TCC is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, which is being developed by Ciner unit Kazan Soda Electric.

Under the contract, Siemens will supply a SGT5-4000F gas turbine, a dual casing SST-800/600 steam turbine, SGen-1200A and SGen-100A generators as well as related electrical and installation and commissioning equipment.

The company plans to manufacture the gas turbine in Berlin, steam turbine at the Görlitz plant, and generators in Erfurt, Germany.

Planned to be commissioned by the end of 2017, the new natural-gas-fired co-generation plant is being built in Kazan, Ankara province in Turkey. It is based on F-class power plant technology

Siemens power and gas division sales head Karim Amin said: "The Kazan CHP will be the seventh F-class gas turbine in Turkey.

"This new order for the Kazan project further strengthens our market position in Turkey for large gas turbines."

The co-generation plant will supply 230 tons of process steam per hour and 320MW power for the new Ciner Kazan Dense soda ash processing plant.

Ciner energy and mining group president Gürsel Usta said: "The Kazan Project of the Ciner Group consists of three main plants; namely the largest solution mining plant in the world, one of the largest dense soda ash and sodium bicarbonate plants in the world and the largest co-generation power plant in Turkey."
