Under the NOK200m ($26.1m) order, Kongsberg Maritime will supply SAS, life cycle simulator and SAS information management systems for four platforms on the Johan Sverdrup field center.

The order also includes hardware, software and system engineering support. It is based on the project specific agreement signed by Kongsberg Maritime with Johan Sverdrup in May 2014.

Kongsberg will participate with integrated engineering services to various contractors for Johan Sverdrup as well as installs and commissions the delivered systems.

Estimated to cost up to NOK220bn ($28.8bn), the oil field is believed to host recoverable resources of between 1.7 and 3 billion barrels oil equivalent.

The initial phase of the Johan Sverdrup project includes installation of an accommodation, a riser and process platform, and three seabed templates for water injection.

Partners in the project include Statoil, Lundin Norway, Petoro, Det norske oljeselskap and Maersk Oil.
