The prospect is situated in Area D, 140km from the coast and 20km north of the production field of Bouri.

Drilled to a depth of 125m, the A1-1/1 well discovered gas and condensates in the Metlaoui Group of Eocene age.

During production test, the well flowed 1,340 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) with a "64/64′ choke size. It is expected to deliver more than 3,000boepd in production configuration.

The A1-1/1 well is the second discovery in Area D this year. Eni North Africa operates Contract Area D in the exploration phase.

The company currently produces more than 300,000boepd in Libya.
