The company is working to use polymer chemical injection technology to increase recovery of hydrocarbon reserves.

Jee will design a polymer riser injection package, including with J-tubes, to support the first phase of the project.

Jee engineering head Jonathan McGregor said: "The ever-changing downhole environment represents a challenge when injecting chemical agents into existing reservoir fluids.

"The work carried out by Jee’s highly experienced engineers on this innovative project will allow for informed decisions to be made, with the aim of successful long-term oil recovery."

In December 2014, Amec secured a contract with Chevron to design Captain Field EOR project in North Sea.

Amec will develop a new bridge-linked platform using 4-D seismic imaging, horizontal drilling and pump technologies.
The platform will be used to store, mix and pump polymer, and will be tied into existing facilities.

Development drilling work is due to commence this year with plans to complete in 2020.
