The open season is for a pipeline that will transport natural gas liquids from processing facilities constructed in the Marcellus and Utica Shale areas in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio to firm’s Marcus Hook industrial complex on the Delaware river.

According to the company, the new pipeline is expected to begin operations in early 2016.

Sunoco Logistics Partners president and CEO Michael Hennigan said the company is optimistic on the production growth from the Marcellus and Utica Shales.

"We are proceeding with the Open Season as we have received considerable market interest to develop this project to provide producers with several marketing options for their expanding production," Hennigan added.

Sunoco owns and operates logistics business, including diverse portfolio of complementary crude oil and refined product pipeline, terminalling, and acquisition and marketing assets.
