The French company Framatome ANP has won a contract to carry out service work on the Angra 2 nuclear power plant. The work will be carried out during the first annual refuelling outage at the plant, which entered commercial operation in December 2000. Angra 2 is operated by the state-owned Eletronuclear-Eletrobras Termonuclear SA. The service project includes work on the reactor floor and fuel assemblies and maintenance work on valves pumps and motors together with inspection of ancillary components. The work will be carried out in March 2002 in cooperation with Framatome’s Brazilian partner and customer and subcontractors from Germany and Brazil. It will involve a total of 1000 specialists and is expected to be completed in 30 days.
