Four hundred submersible distribution transformers integrating Dupont Nomex thermal technology have been purchased in Taiwan by Taipower to meet local environmental requirements – they are to be installed in underground vaults for mainly safety and traffic considerations, and therefore must be a sealed design operating at high temperatures and capable of standing up to submersion. The problem was solved by Yung-Heng Electrical in co-operation with Dupont.
