Under the contract, Acciona will provide AW125/3000 wind turbines for a 129MW wind project.

The AW125/3000 win turbines, which can optimize the capture of energy on sites with medium-speed winds, will be installed on steel towers and are due to be supplied in 2015.

Acciona Windpower chief executive José Luis Blanco: "We are very pleased to continue increasing our order portfolio in Mexico with new customers, and this confirms the growing interest of the wind power sector in our AW 3000 turbine."

Currently, the company is under contracts with Mexican customers for the delivery of 3MW turbines, totaling 252MW, for two wind farms in Nuevo León, and has another deal for 1.5MW machines for a 49.5MW facility in Oaxaca.

Acciona Windpower focuses on designing, manufacturing and operating the wind turbines which provide maximum performance energy generation and the lowest cost of energy for wind power developers.
