The Siemens Power Generation Group of Siemens/KWU and the Demag Delaval Group of Atecs Mannesmann are to merge following Siemens/KWU’s acquisition of the Mannesmann group. The deal is subject to anti-trust approval.
Demag Delaval supplies turbocompressors to the air fractionation industries and for oil, gas, chemical and petrochemical industries. The company already uses Siemens/KWU turbines to drive its compressors.
The new entity is projected to start operations on 1 April 2001. Its headquarters will be in Duisburg. It expects a turnover of over $600 million.
