Under the contract, CGGC will finance, design and construct President Nestor Kirchner hydropower station and Governor Jorge Saipan Nick hydropower station.
The scope of the contract also includes providing 15-year operation & maintenance service for the projects on the Santa Cruz River.
The Nestor Kirchner project will feature six Francis turbines totaling 1,140MW, while the Jorge Saipan Nick project will include five axial-flow hydraulic turbines with a total capacity of 600MW.
Once completed in around five and a half years, the project will boost the country’s economic and social development and allow exporting electricity to neighboring countries that are suffering from power shortage.
