Under the 20-month INR1.15bn ($18.3m), CG will install the reactors at PGCIL’s Vemagiri and Srikakulam sub-stations, which are located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, aimed to enhance transmission efficiency.

CG will also be responsible for design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, supplying, erection testing and commissioning at site, and other associated civil works.

Avantha Group Company CG CEO and managing director Laurent Demortier said: "As rapid urbanisation and industrialisation adds millions of new consumers in the country, a robust UHV infrastructure will be the backbone of the power sector and CG is well positioned to serve the utilities for their future growth plan with its complete UHV range."

Upon commissioning, the reactors will enhance the transmission efficiency of the national grid as well as boost the power quality for the consumer.
