The production capacity at the Khurais central processing facilities (CPF) will be increased from 1,200,000 barrels of oil per calendar day (BPCD) to 300,000 BPCD, as part of the deal.

In addition, the installation of a satellite gas oil separation plant (GOSP) will be carried by the group in Mazalij and Abu Jifan fields to increase production.

The FEED is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2014.

Foster Wheeler president and COO Umberto della Sala said the company holds a long-term relationship with Saudi Aramco, and will paly a role in company’s strategic investments.

"This award reflects the confidence of Saudi Aramco in our FEED capability and project execution expertise, proven on previous major Saudi Aramco oil and gas developments, including Haradh, Qatif, Manifa, Karan and the original Khurais developments," Sala added.
