The order comes after the company has received the Komatsu Model PC3000 hydraulic excavator at the mine.
It includes four Komatsu Model HD785-7 100 ton haul trucks, two Komatsu Model HM400-3 articulated haul trucks, one Komatsu Model PC490LC-10 hydraulic excavator, two Komatsu Model D275AX-SEO dozers, and one Komatsu Model WA500-7 wheel loader.
The equipment is expected to allow the company to boost production at its Pennsylvania opencast operation.
Atlantic Coal plans to fund the purchase through an asset backed lease purchase agreement at $20m over six years.
Atlantic managing director Steve Best said: "We anticipate that the acquisition of the new equipment will assist with our operational efficiency and enable us to meet our production goals for the immediate future.
"The new plant will be utilised across the full range of our mine operations at Stockton and comes at an opportune time as we move into an area of high quality reserve of virgin coal."
