The new facility will work in conjunction with GE’s established operations in Jandakot, south of Perth.
It will support the preparation, storage and routine maintenance of subsea equipment of the Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG project.
GE Oil & Gas Australia regional director Mary Hackett said: "This facility has been built by locals, it is supported by local businesses and services, and the GE team members live in Broome.
"As part of the community, we look forward to providing year-round support to our customers during project development and ongoing operations."
Constructed by H&M Tracey Construction, the facility houses a warehouse, equipment hardstand area and employs a team of seven.
GE has already delivered the first equipment to support the commencement of the first well in the Ichthys field in late January.
Since 2005, GE has invested over $800m in infrastructure to support energy and power generation projects in Australia.
