The new plant will produce concrete segments using in-house technology for the wind turbine towers in the Ventika and Ventika II wind farms, installed by Acciona.
Commenting on the new plant, Acciona Energía CEO Rafael Mateo said: "The creation of this tower plant shows our ability to provide innovative, efficient and profitable solutions in an increasingly demanding market, and confirms our strong commitment to the Mexican wind power sector."
Located in the state of Nuevo León, Ventika and Ventika II wind farms were installed for a development company comprising Fisterra Energy, Cemex and other private investors.
The $650m Ventika complex will feature 84 units of 3MW Acciona Windpower turbines and will have an installed capacity of around 252MW.
Acciona Windpower will operate and maintain the wind farms for a period of 15 years, following the commencement of operations in the second semester of 2016.
