Located near the common boundary of Sinaloa and Chihuahua States, west central Mexico, the Creston property received the Environmental Impact Statement from the Environmental Protection Authorities (SERMANAT) as well as the change of land use permit.

The approvals follow completion of extensive environmental study of the land on which the mine is located and the surrounding community.

Following final approval for permits, which is expected within the next 60 days, the company will begin construction and production on an exploration/development field work program on the El Creston iron ore property.

The program includes a preliminary pilot testing plant operation for testing zones at the property.

Sierra Iron Ore president and CEO Wally Boguski said that the preliminary approval marks significant milestone for the company’s near-term plan to be in production on the El Creston property.

"We continue to responsibly source, negotiate and secure the purchase of the remaining equipment needed to advance the company to the planned development work program," Boguski added.

"We look forward to providing the market with further updates as we expect to begin the development program in the 2nd half of 2013."
