Awarded after an exhaustive government tender process, the contract seeks supply of Elster’s A3 ALPHA meter to help CFE respond to the growing demand from commercial and industrial (C&I) facilities for high quality metering data in 2013.

The tender process involved comprehensive evaluation of functionality, price, warranty, and standards compliance.

Elster Solutions Sales and Marketing senior vice president Tom Van Denover said the tender process was very challenging and demonstrates why CFE is considered a leading global utility company.

"We are pleased to continue to work with CFE, and we are committed to CFE’s success," Denover added.

Covering 28,000 C&I customers across the country, the initial phase of the A3 ALPHA meter deployment will enable the company to collect accurate and reliable data, enhance billing calculations and efficiency, and help their business customers to become more savvy consumers of electric energy.

CFE is the government energy corporation in Mexico having more than 35 million end customers.
