As part of the plan, a committee has been formed to deal with technology development and modernization of the company by hiring international consultants.
The Minister of State for Coal Pratik PrakashBapu Patil said CIL has received 14 expressions of interests from various companies for improvement of mining techniques.
Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a unit of CIL, had floated an invite for an expression of interest from international consultants and organizations for technology upgrading and modernization of the mines.
The selected consultant will design a plan for technology development, as well as review the status of the current technology for safety, production and productivity at both underground and opencast coal mines of CIL.
