The company won two orders, worth over INR1.66bn ($27m), for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 400kV substation extension packages in India’s western region.

The substations, once commissioned, will improve availability of power for fulfilling the growing demand for electricity in the western region.

Alstom T&D received a contract, worth INR400m ($6m), for supplying 765kV circuit breakers to various substations across India.

These breakers will be manufactured in its factory located in Padappai, Tamil Nadu.

The other two contracts include delivery of 765kV reactors for Power Grid’s Padghe, Aurangabad, Bhiwani, and Meerut substations for a value of INR270m ($4m) and 400kV reactors for Power Grid’s Khandwa Purnia, Gajuwaka Baripada and Bhiwani valued at INR228m ($3m).

Alstom T&D India managing director Rathin Basu said Alstom T&D India is the leader in India in HV and EHV domains, for both AC & DC technology, in building the T&D infrastructure in the country.
