Handover of the completed works to client Southern Hydropower Joint Stock Co is underway. When completed the plant is to generate more than 57GWh of electricity per year.
The US$4.6M package saw the contractor build a 2.3km long narrow (less than 3m wide) headrace tunnel plus surge tanks and intakes.
Construction began at the site on the Dasiat river, in Lam Dong province, in mid-2006. Major excavation finished almost a year ago. The plants is downstream of the Dong Nai 3 and Dong Nai 4 facilities.
The division of Cavico that undertook the package of work was Cavico Hydropower Construction.
