These new permits have been included in the company’s joint venture (JV) with Antofagasta Minerals and work programs will now be extended into these new areas.

The permits cover a total area of some 95 sq km along strike to the east and west of the known mineral resources at La Zarza.

According to the company, work programs for 2011 agreed by the JV include a close line spaced airborne electromagnetic survey, a gravity survey and a provision for some 3,000m of diamond drilling on any targets identified.

Under the terms of the JV agreement, Antofagasta will fund the budget of $1.3m for the program.

In October 2009, Ormonde signed a JV agreement with Antofagasta to explore for additional copper resources on the La Zarza copper-gold project.
