The power plant will be built by Jacobsen Elektro for the state-owned energy provider Tanzania Electric Supply Company.
Siemens will supply three SGT-800 gas turbines with a combined capacity of 100MW at site condition.
The natural gas for the facility is supplied through a pipeline from the Songo Songo gas field off the coast of Tanzania.
Connection of the gas turbines to the electricity grid is planned for late 2011.
