Rocky Mountain Power selected Comverge to manage its Cool Keeper program, which is designed to help better manage electricity demand during the critical summer months.

Comverge announced a 90MW agreement with Rocky Mountain Power in June 2003. The program was Comverge’s fully outsourced and pay-for-performance capacity offering, and was a key component of Rocky Mountain Power’s efforts to improve system reliability within its service territory and keep electricity costs down. Since then, the program has delivered in excess of 100MW of peak demand reduction.

Comverge president and CEO Blake Young said that the Cool Keeper program is an excellent example of the key role demand response plays in the larger energy efficiency initiatives of Comverge’s utility partners as they move towards the smart grid.
