The contract includes an option for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the module.
The module will be designed to receive and process gas from the Troll West field before it is exported to the Kollsnes facility near Bergen in Norway.
Troll gas field is considered to be one of Norway’s largest natural gas fields. The field is located about 65km west of Kollsnes in the North Sea and is claimed to contain about 40% of Norway’s offshore gas reserves. The gas field is expected to produce gas beyond 2050.
The field is operated by Statoil with 30.58% stake. Other partners of the field include Petoro with 56%, Royal Dutch Shell with 8.1%, ConocoPhillips 1.62% and Total 3.69%.
Aker Solutions CEO Luis Araujo said "We're excited to start working on the next phase of this important development and look forward to collaborating with Statoil to optimize value from this field."
Recently, Aker Solutions has also won a contract from Shell to provide brownfield modifications services and maintenance support for the Nyhama and Draugen facilities in Norway. The agreement has initially been signed for four years, with a scope to extend it up to seven years.
The Nyhama natural gas processing plant in Aukra is connected to the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea.
Employing nearly 14,000 people in about 20 countries, Aker offers products, systems and services to the oil and gas industry.
