CNOOC has already constructed a natural gas terminal in Hengqin Island in the southern part of Zhuhai and has established a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal at the city’s Gaolan port.
It will also purchase 3.6 million tones of LNG a year from BG Group Ltd’s planned Australian plant from as early as 2014.
