CH2M HILL Engineers will act as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the Lake Side 2 project, while PacifiCorp will be the owner and operator of the facility, when the plant begins commercial operation.

The power plant is expected to begin commercial operation in August 2014.

As per the order, Siemens will provide two SGT6-5000F gas turbines, one SST6-5000 steam turbine installed in a combined cycle configuration, and two heat recovery steam generators.

Siemens also entered into a long-term service agreement for the Siemens supplied turbines and generators and will provide construction and commissioning support to the project, the company said.

Lake Side 2 is being constructed adjacent to PacifiCorp’s existing Lake Side project.

The Lake Side 2 combined cycle plant will have an expected annual average rating of 637MW , which is equivalent to the needs of approximately 350,000 typical homes.

US based CH2M HILL is a full-service consulting, design, construction and operations firm.
