The KN-3 well, located on the Zharkamys West 1 contract territory, encountered 275m of Triassic-aged sandstone.

Wireline logs identified four zones that resulted in seven meters of net oil pay over a 90m interval.

The company said the well is deemed to be non-commercial given the thin nature of the pay zones.

The Triassic sand package penetrated by the well is of older geologic age than the commercially successful Triassic sands recently discovered by the company at Shoba.

Condor president and CEO Don Streu said KN-3 penetrated an older section within the Triassic that simply had too much reservoir and not enough shale to create an effective top seal.
