The state will sell the power generated from the solar farm to the authority at a wholesale cost slightly higher than what TVA usually pays. The authority is expected to pay the state about $1 million annually for the power generated by the farm.

Construction on the site is expected to begin soon as the project is approved by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The project will take 22,300 solar panels to build the local solar farm if it is approved for construction.
