The facility will have the capacity to provide renewable energy by extracting gas from the timber and then feeding it into purpose-built machinery.
The Arfon inspection sub-committee recommendations to approve the application were subject to conditions including the submitting of noise and dust alleviating details; a planting scheme for trees and shrubs around the site; no materials to be stockpiled outside the building and the site to generate electricity 24 hours a day but restricting loading times between 7am-7pm during the week and between 8am-4pm during the weekend and bank holidays.
According to a report compiled by Gwynedd Council planners, around 22,500 tonnes of timber will be needed to fuel the plant which will be in operation for 24 hours a day.
The report went on to say that the plant could help the country reach that target.
