The power project will be equipped with 66 units of Siemens 2.3MW wind turbine and will utilize an existing 230kV transmission line for electricity distribution.

Mortenson Construction has been selected to manage construction of the project, which is expected to produce enough clean energy to power approximately 45,000 homes.

The electricity generated by the facility will be sold to NV Energy under a 20-year agreement.

Pattern Energy said the wind farm will generate more than $20m in tax revenue for White Pine County and Nevada’s Renewable Energy Fund over the next 20 years.

Pattern Energy currently operates 520MW of wind energy projects in North America.
