At InterContinental Muscat, RAECO signed a power purchase agreement with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company, and a power connection agreement with Oman Electricity Transmission Company.

Eng Saleh bin Nasser al Rumhi, CEO, RAECO signed the agreements. While Eng Yaqoob al Kiyumi, CEO, signed the agreement on behalf of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company, Eng Masood al Riyami, COO, signed the pact for Oman Electricity Transmission Company.

The engineering, procurements and construction works have been awarded to Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company. The 50MW wind energy project will be based in Fetkheet in the wilayat of Shaleem and Halaniyat Islands in Dhofar.

Eng Rumhi said, “The sultanate has made its best efforts over the past years to make use of its natural elements to generate energy. Today, we are celebrating the launch of a project which, I’m sure, will be followed by many more.”
