As a part of the contract, Dresser Masoneilan will supply variable resistance trim (VRT) control valves for the four nuclear power plants. VRT control valve have alternating plate segments that claim to provide throttling control and continuity in flow control.

According to the company, the increasing flow area in addition to providing high capacity facilitates precise control when operating near the seated position. While in low-flow conditions, the valve can be engineered to provide cavitation protection.

Dresser Masoneilan claims to supply control valves that can comply with the full scope of products and stringent certifications required for the nuclear power industry.

Eric Strecker, vice president of sales at Dresser, Asia Pacific: “Our nuclear power customers in China rely on us to help them improve plant operations with the technical advantages and reliability our products offer and the comprehensive local aftermarket support we provide.

“These contracts are the result of customer relationships that have been in place for more than 15 years and our deep expertise serving the nuclear power industry.”
