Siemens will supply the wind turbines with a capacity of 3.6MW each and a rotor diameter of 120mt to the Anholt wind farm. The wind turbines will be produced at Siemens plant in Brande in Denmark and installed off the east coast of Denmark, 20km off the northeastern coast of the Jutland peninsula.
The scope of supply for Siemens includes manufacturing, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. The company will also provide a service and maintenance agreement for the first five years, with an option of selected services during the second five years.
The wind farm is expected to be commissioned in 2013. When fully operational, it will provide clean energy for approximately 400,000 households.
Wolfgang Dehen, CEO of Siemens Energy, said: “The new order for the Anholt offshore wind farm further strengthens our position as the global leader in offshore wind power. We’re very proud to once again work with Dong Energy on another high-profile, renewable energy project.”
