Causes for the outage are being investigated. The company personnel have worked since 25 January morning to repair the damage and bring power back for the customers.

Xcel Energy regional vice president Laura McCarten thanked the company’s customers for their patience while the crew worked to restore power.

"This was an unusual outage in the extent of damage to our system – we removed and replaced thousands of feet of destroyed electrical cable and other pieces of equipment," McCarten added.

"In recognition of the great efforts of the local Red Cross to assist affected customers, we’re pleased to make a $2,500 donation.

"Additionally, we want to recognize the dedication of our crews, who faced tough, cold working conditions in confined underground spaces. They worked safely and got the job done."
