The company has drilled the Las Maracas-7 to 400m from the Las Maracas-6 well, and discovered potential net oil pay in the Mirador main Gacheta and basal Gacheta sands.

Tuscany109 rig has been used to drill the Las Maracas-7 well, where it is currently drilling water disposal well down to the Carbonera C1 formation.

The company said drilling on the field will recommence in the second quarter of 2013.

The field is currently producing about 8,500 barrels of oil per day with a water cut of less than 2% and is expected to remain at these levels till the permanent production facility becomes operational.

Petroamerica has also drilled the Balay-4 on the Balay Block, well to its total depth, and is currently carrying out testing.

The company has plans to turn the well into a commercial producer, using an electro-submersible pump.
