One of the orders was secured from a Canadian industrial customer and the other from a US-based electric utility client. Chemical feed for both units has already commenced, according to Fuel Tech.

The firm noted that its Fuel Chem technology revolves around the application of chemicals to improve the efficiency, reliability, fuel flexibility and environmental status of combustion units by controlling slagging, fouling, corrosion, opacity and acid plume, as well as the formation of sulfur trioxide, ammonium bisulfate, particulate matter, CO2 and nitrous oxides.

John Norris Jr, president and CEO, said: We are pleased to announce the addition of two new customers to our expanding client base. The Canadian initiative is designed to improve furnace cleanliness and address burner pluggage issues, while the domestic contract is for application of a combustion catalyst, primarily to assist with opacity reduction.
