The company will provide 400kV, 275kV and 132kV AIS switchgear to the Denny North substation, which is located 2km north of Denny.

The substation will be a part of the new 400kV power line between Beauly and Denny towns, where it would be linked to the existing transmission network.

The 220km transmission line is designed to strengthen the power network across a large part of the country.

Alstom commercial VP Kevin Marriott stated, "This is a major substation build for Alstom as part of an important national project and we are pleased to have responsibility for the entire substation development process, including manufacturing."

For the latest project, the firm has roped in Enterprise Utility Services to carry out civil works, and installation and commissioning of the substation’s primary and secondary equipment.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2015.

The company said its engineers will also carry out related work at a number of substations, including Bonnybridge, Longannet, and Windyhill.
