For the survey, the company will charter 12 streamer Polarcus Asima for about six months.
TGS said it will process the data and make it available to clients in fourth quarter of 2013, before the Liberia 2013 Bid Round.
The company will conduct the survey supported by industry funding.
TGS Eastern Hemisphere senior vice president Stein Ove Isaksen said the survey will provide data coverage for the source prone, syn-rift and early post-rift sequences, in the prospective area offshore Liberia.
"TGS has been active in acquiring data over the West Africa Transform margin for the past decade and this survey demonstrates TGS’ ongoing commitment to grow the seismic data library in Africa," Isaksen added.
