Apache has 65% operating interest in Julimar field with Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec) owning the remaining 25% stake.
Apache said in its first-quarter 2009 conference call it drilled two wells “into the multi-trillion cubic foot Julimar and Brunello complex” during the first quarter of 2009.
These two wells together confirmed the presence of a significant gas resource in this prolific area,” said Apache co-chief operating officer and president international Rod Eichler.
The company indicated recently that one more well was planned in the Brokenwood area followed by two exploration wells in the Balnaves area, also within the Julimar-Brunello complex.
