MV Orogenic Geos ship building project was accomplished in March 2009 after it begun in 2007.

Since its establishment five years ago, Asian Geos has been only renting ships from other companies to carry out its operations in the country’s waters, Asian Geos’ Executive Chairman, Ahmad Ziyad Elias said.

Weighing 1,069 tonnes and measuring 60 metres, plus the capacity to have on board 42 ship crew, the ship will carry out oil and gas exploration activities in deep sea, Ahmad Ziyad said.

Ahmad Ziyad said besides Petronas which employs the services of Asian Geos for oil and gas exploration work, many other fuel firms also use their services including Exxon Mobil Corporation, Royal Dutch Plc, PTP Thailand and PT Pertamina from Indonesia.

We also plan to open several new offices outside the country including in Nigeria and Oman to expand operations. We have already opened offices in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand, Ahmad Ziyad added.
