Siemens and eMeter will license re-usable, standards-based adapters to each of the member CIS and AMI systems, eliminating the need for point-to-point, one-off integrations.

Andrew Horstman, manager of demand response at WVPA, said: “Wabash Valley works with multiple distribution cooperatives located in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Missouri, each with different meter types and customer information systems.

“For this reason, we needed a flexible software platform with proven smart grid deployments. Siemens and eMeter have the right product and experience to make our smart grid rollout successful.”

Indianapolis-based WVPA is a generation and transmission cooperative. Founded in 1963, it has grown to include 28 member cooperatives that provide electricity to approximately 800,000 people.
