The Edeniq Cellunators technology will enhance ethanol yield by increasing available starch for conversion.

Besides improving the yield, the implementation of the Cellunators technology will enable the installation of Edeniq’s Pathway technology that integrates the Cellunator with proprietary enzymes.

This integration will enable the production of cellulosic fraction of the corn kernel to ethanol, which will ultimately allow the plant to produce cellulosic ethanol.

Commenting on the agreement, Pacific Ethanol president and CEO Neil Koehler said that the company seeks to improve plant efficiencies while producing advanced biofuels within a corn ethanol plant.

"We expect this technology to increase yields and improve overall plant profitability," added Koehler.
