The proposed transmission line route passing through the south levy district industrial park is expected to affect the future business developments, reports Quincy Journal.

The city council is supporting an alternative route proposed by the Great River Economic Development Foundation, which works toward improving the economic vitality of Quincy and Adams counties.

Quincy Mayor John Spring was quoted by the journal as saying that the council hopes its resolution will be considered by the Illinois commerce commission.

"The resolution basically takes the transmission line considerably south of where it is proposed now," added Spring.

"Currently, it’s being proposed right about on the city limits in the industrial park. The resolution would take it at least another half of mile south which then shouldn’t create any kind of impact for us with future or existing businesses."
