The Chinese Nuclear Power Engineering Company (CNPEC)-operated nuclear power plants have been in service since 20 years.

The AEG Power Solutions’ inverters have been selected to meet the highest standards of reliability and ruggedness while ensuring a secure and continuous power supply for the nuclear facilities.

The Daya Bay power plant comprise eight Transokraft inverters while Ling Ao has nine, all rated at 20kVA.

Designed to meet the stringent requirements of the nuclear industry, including resistance to seismic events and high temperatures, the inverters have multiple certifications.

Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations and Management electrical modification director Li Jisheng said: "We chose Transokraft inverters from AEG Power Solutions for several reasons; firstly, because we needed a one-stop-shop including spare parts, integrated service, and diagnostic features and tools to verify all settings.

"Then, the high robustness of the inverters was important to us, and their excellent performance in seismic tests."

AEG Power Solutions power generation sales manager Rudolf Poeppelbaum said: "For the nuclear power industry, Transokraft inverters provide excellent levels of reliability, as demonstrated by their rigorous testing, multiple certifications, and long proven track record.

Located in South China, around 50km from Hong Kong, the Daya Bay and Ling Ao are the first two installed nuclear power plants in China.
