The company has now completed nearly half of the initial excavation phase of the project on the main roads, with the major excavations in Bannantyne Street finishing ahead of time.
In order to complete a further major section of the scheme, Kirkfieldbank Brae and Mousemill Road will be closed to through traffic from early April, the company said.
ScottishPower Lanarkshire zone manager Iain Steele said work on this major infrastructure project is progressing well and the company has been working very closely with South Lanarkshire Council to plan its work in advance.
