The companies will work together to deliver new nuclear projects for Areva’s EPR reactor design.
This agreement builds on the progress made since joint work began in 2008, the companies said.
Under the deal, Rolls-Royce will manufacture components for Areva’s nuclear reactors in the UK.
Areva will supply nuclear steam generating systems for four EPR reactors that are planned for construction in Britain by France’s EDF.
Rolls-Royce and Areva said that their collaboration agreement can also be expanded to cover nuclear projects in other countries.
