facility

The Panda Power Funds-owned Panda Sherman Power facility can continuously supply the power needs of up to 758,000 homes in one of the regions of the US.

Engineered by Siemens Energy as a completely integrated unit to increase its efficiency and output, the power plant features combustion turbines designed to be upgraded during the useful life of the plant and will allow it to keep pace with advancements in generation technology.

The Panda Sherman generation facility has been developed by a turn-key construction consortium of Bechtel and Siemens Energy.

Siemens was responsible for power island package including the natural gas turbines, steam turbine and waste heat recovery boilers while Bechtel was responsible for the engineering and procurement for the remainder of the plant.

Bechtel is also responsible for the installation, construction and commissioning of the facility, which commissioned following the early completion of Panda Power Temple I, an identical plant that Bechtel built in Temple, Texas.

Panda Power Funds president and senior partner Todd Carter said: "They handed over a quality plant that is producing reliable power for approximately 758,000 homes in North Texas sooner than expected."

The team is also working on Panda Temple II Generating Station, which is located adjacent to Panda Temple I, and the Panda Stonewall Power Project in Leesburg, Virginia.

Upon completion, all the four projects are expected to collectively generate enough electricity to power almost 3 million homes.
