The contract was awarded by Aiolos Projekt, a company majority owned by private French Group Akuo Energy, and marks the first V112-3.0MW wind power plant to be installed in Croatia.

Vestas is scheduled to deliver the wind turbines in third quarter of 2015. The wind power plant is planned to be commissioned by the end of the same year.

The contract includes delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system as well as a 10-year active management output (AOM) 4000 service agreement.

The AOM 4000 is a full-scope service contract, which includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Akuo Energy chairman Eric Scotto said: "Croatia shows a buoyant potential in terms of renewable resources and we are convinced this project paves the way for many more in this country."

Vestas Central Europe president Dr Christoph Vogel said; "This project will help Croatia, the newest EU member, to reach its RES targets and tap into the country’s wind energy potential."

The wind facility, upon completion, can produce more than 100,000 MWh per year, which is enough to meet the needs of more than 31,000 Croatian households.
