The company will supply three drive systems, a 220kV gas insulated switchgear, three containerized rooms to house 23kV gas insulated switchgear, auxiliary services and power transformers.
Codelco’s major investment includes a new open pit mine and concentrator that is expected to produce 170,000 metric tons of fine copper per year.
The Mina Ministro Hales mine is scheduled to start production in 2013 and will be located 6km north of Calama, at an altitude of 3,000m, in the Atacama desert.
