The purchase of the RECs guarantees that carbon-free energy generated by wind farms is produced and fed into the national grid to balance the conventional power Parsons Brinckerhoff receives at its offices at One Penn Plaza and 333 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan. Parsons Brinckerhoff will continue to draw power from the local power grid.

Parsons Brinckerhoff has also joined the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership, a group of organizations that have made commitments to buy electricity from alternative renewable sources.

As a business with headquarters in New York City since 1885, we are pleased to be able to support Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s goal of a 30-percent reduction in the city’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, says Keith Hawksworth, chief executive officer of Parsons Brinckerhoff.
